1) What do you know about “vintage”?

There is the vintage year on the wine stickers, which means the year of the harvest with designation of the grape’s sort, from which this wine was made. There are important factors that influence vintage year such as the weather conditions and resulting effect of the grape’s crop.

2) White, red, pink….which one?
Doubtless for the making of white wine only the yellow or green wine grape is used. But also there is some difficult technology about making the different white wine types, one of them consists in detaching from dark-skinned sort of grape its skin right before the fermentation. We won’t unlock a secret of red wine recipes, but we can surely say that its red color it takes from juicy dark-skinned grape. Pink wine is sometimes a mixture of red and white wine and at times the result of contact with dark-skinned grape.

3) Can I become fat drinking wine?

There are approximately from 80 to 100 calories in 113,40 grams of wine. The lighter wine is the fewer calories are in it. Certain wines contain more carbohydrates because of residual sugar in them. For instance, really sweet dessert wine could contain to 12 grams and dry Sauvignon Blanc – to 2 grams. There are no fats and cholesterol in wine.

4) My poor poor head …

“I just can’t get rid of this terrible headache” this phrase is very well-known to everybody, so what is the matter? Histamines, which increase the permeability of the capillaries to white blood cells and other proteins, in order to allow them to engage foreign invaders in the affected tissues; give headache to the people who have sensitiveness to them. The effect of red wine is much stronger to the sensitive drinkers than of white wine due to the short duration of its contact with grape’s skin.

5) Health is first of all…. What about red wine?

There is some kind of the “eternal” question about red wine and heart health. The scientific community and politicians and of course health care system have been discussing for many years and eventually we have only many good feedbacks.

6) What do you prefer: sweet wine or a dry one?

A sweet wine is the only one which has some contents of residual sugar and due to that factor it is sweet. There is no sign of sweet taste in a dry wine because there are no residual sugars. Off-dry wine has an almost dry flavour, with just a trace of sweetness.

7) What is “oaky wine ”?

Thanks to the oak wine barrels give their flavor (cause of the fermentation or aging in barrels) to the wine and it becomes with a slight taste of wood or oak.

8) “To swirl or not to swirl wine in a glass? This is the question”

It may not be in such way. To feel the smell of wine fully people swirl it in the glass. If you like to feel wine’s aroma at the first, swirl it for your pleasure, if you don’t, just drink it.
